Author guidelines


Authors must use the Springer LNCS template and submit as a Word or Word compatible file to prepare the manuscripts. Please do NOT  submit LaTeX files, because it will be difficult for our publisher to typeset the conference proceedings.

PDF’s can be used for the review process. But the camera ready versions must be a Word or Word compatible file.

For your convenience, you can write your paper directly in the Word paper template that can be downloaded here

There will be room for 30 long papers and 20 short papers for interactive demo proposals.

Please, be sure to follow these guidelines while submitting your work:

  • Title
    The title of the paper should be marked with [Long Paper] or [Short Paper].
  • Abstract
    All manuscripts must include an abstract containing no more than 200 words. It should indicate the techniques used and summarize the most important results. Statements about relevance to design practice should be included.
  • Long papers
    Long papers should be 4000-5000 words in lenght (maximum 12 pages).
  • Interactive Demo Proposals + Short papers
    Authors presenting interactive demo are invited to submit a short paper to describe their work. Short paper should be 2000 words in lenght (maximum 5 pages). Submitters of short papers are also encouraged to provide in papers a link for download of media demonstrating their results, whether images, video, or other media types. Media and Links should be anonymised for double-blind review.



Please submit your proposal through the Easy-Chair platform. If you are a new user of Easy-Chair, you will be required to create an account. Once you are logged-in, click again on the above link to ensure that you are visualizing the DesForM 2015 page and then click on the New Submission tab.

The uploaded file should not exceed 20 Mb

Both long and short paper submission deadline is January 15, 2015 January 31, 2015



In order for a paper to be included in the conference programme and appear in the proceedings, at least one author must register for the conference by July 3, 2015.

For authors with multiple accepted papers, one registration is valid for up to 2 papers.
